How to make a blog?

Hai friends,
Now I would Like to give something like tutorial to know how to start a blog and to manage items in it.I think their are only a few friends who has their on blog, while someothers are trying to make their own blog. And because of this I think if I post something like this then it will be something helpful to others. Now let me thank Mr.Shaji Mullookkaaran and Google. I got many ideas from shaji Mullookkaaran to do this post and moreover his blog is in malayalam and it is full of tips and tricks to start a blog and create it more attractive. And some other ideas are from google where I am getting plenty of knowledge...Before going to say about it I think I show say what exactly blog is and should be the content of the blog.

What is a Blog?

A blog is a type of website, usually maintained by an individual with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video. Entries are commonly displayed in reverse-chronological order. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog. There are many different types of blogs, differing not only in the type of content, but also in the way that content is delivered or written.
Such as,Personal blogs,Corporate and organizational blogs etc...If you need more details about it then you can go to this link this link
Now let me start How can you start a blog...

How to start a blog?

For starting a blog first you should need an e-mail address. For this you can use gmail or yahoo account. For this purpose I prefer Google account. For those people who already have a gmail id can use that one,But if not then you can Click Here and give necessary details to make an account.

After that Click Here. From this step you are really going to create your blog! Now you had got a page like this picture.

You may click " CREATE YOUR BLOG NOW "Now you will get a page as shown below.

First you should give your e-mail address in the column showing "Email address" and you should also give the same e-mail id in the column showing " Retype email address ".

Next column is "Enter a password", in that column you should give atleast 8 letters. You can also you the password which you used to make your gmail id.Now you should write the same password which you written the previous column in " Retype password " also.

Now you can see the column showing Display name. The name you are going to write in this column will show as your profile name. This will show as blogs name. You can decide any name as you like. You can start many blogs with a same profile name.Your blog will be listed as the name you are giving in this column and because of that you should take a different name.

The next column is word verification. You should write the correct letter by looking the figure.Next one is " Acceptance of Terms ",Here you should approve it by giving a tick mark and click continue. Now the page will go to another as shown below.

Here you should give the name of blog in" Blog Title "and it will be the name of blog.

Next is" Blog address (URL) ",this is the web address of your blog,My blog's URL is http://rarurv.blogspot.com. Likewise your blog will be viewed by everyone by typing this URL.Click" Check Availability ", if it is not available then that may be chooses by someone else and if so then you should type another one.As we seen earlier now it is " Word Verification " do it as earlier and click " Continue ".Now your page will be changed to another one as shown below.

Now its time to choose an appropriate template, for this you can choose any as you like and click "continue".
Now you had came to the page as shown below.

Now you can say that your blog is ready! But its only partially ready. You may now add contents to your blog. For that click on " START POSTING " or " START BLOGING ".Now you can see place for posting your items.you can post your items in Post Area/Content Area and click publish Post.

Now your content can be viewed by all people who visits your blog.
Now I think it is very easy to make blog by reading this.Hope that you all understand it very well.More ways to make your blog attractive shall be posted as soon as I can.

Ubuntu 10.04 features...What will be the changes?

Ubuntu going to release the latest version. So let us see what all are the changes which are going to took place!.The Ubuntu developers are moving quickly to bring you the latest and greatest software the Open Source community has to offer.

Ubuntu 10.04 is having many change from ubuntu 9.10.In this post I would like to post about the changes that is going to occur in 10.04!One feature that has attracted lots of attention lately is that of boot and shutdown times. Most OS manufacturers want to close down the gap between the start/stop experience of a PC and that of other electronic devices, such as a TV, for example. Google was probably the most explicit and aggressive, targeting a 7 second startup time with Google Chrome OS (which by the way is Linux based). Both Windows and Ubuntu keep trying to reduce their startup and shutdown times.Ubuntu 10.04 has bootup in my computer within 10 seconds, and that was really great speed!.

Introducing New Games

I can’t say I know anyone who became an Ubuntu user because of its games. But those people who likes only to use free software and likes to play games,it will be useful for them. All the same, if you’re a fan of titles like Nibbles or GNU Chess, you’ll have to install them yourself in Lucid, since the suite of GNOME games shipped by default has been substantially reduced. Ubuntu 10.04 comes with only five games, down from about a dozen in previous releases.

On the other hand, a new game, gbrainy, has been added.

Yahoo! search by default

In January, Canonical announced that the default search engine in Firefox on new Lucid systems would be Yahoo! Fortunately, those of us who resent the abuse of punctuation can restore the previous default, Google, with a few clicks.

Personally, I’d started to forget Yahoo! existed. Thanks to Canonical for reminding me.

Goodbye, GIMP!

In a move that received slightly more publicity than the other changes outlined in this post, Canonical decided to remove the GIMP image editor from the application stack in Lucid, with the logic that other programs provide the minimal image-manipulation functionality required by average users. But I don't like to say goodbye to GIMP because I use gimp for many purpose, and so I prefer not to leave GIMP.

That means it’s time to get to know F-Spot for your redeye-removal needs.

Hai to Gwibber

As of Lucid, the microblogging client Gwibber comes bundled with Ubuntu. It supports a number of protocols, including but not limited to Twitter and Facebook, allowing users to read and post status messages from one centralized desktop location. The social networkers in the audience should be well pleased.
Simple Scan for scanning

For as long as I can remember, Ubuntu came with XSane installed for scanning documents. While XSane was a solid application, its interface screamed “1999!” as loudly as that of its website.

Lucid introduces Simple Scan, an application built on the same backend as XSane, but with a much prettier and more familiar GTK+ interface. Users can now scan documents without feeling like they’re using some arcane version of Red Hat.

I hope their are some more changes in Ubuntu 10.04 and also hope that the changes will helpful to the users.
All these ideas I got just from the web,I done this for giving a complete knowledge they need,Because when I search the web for this I got these ideas from many sites and I think if I do like this then it will be useful for others really need this information.

History and development process of Ubuntu

Ubuntu is a fork of the Debian project's code base. The original aim was to release a new version of Ubuntu every six months, resulting in a more frequently updated system. Ubuntu's first release was on October 20, 2004.

Ubuntu releases are timed about one month after GNOME releases. In contrast to other forks of Debian, which extensively use proprietary and closed source add-ons, Ubuntu uses primarily free (libre) software, making an exception only for some proprietary hardware drivers.

Ubuntu packages are based on packages from Debian's unstable branch: both distributions use Debian's deb package format and package management tools (APT and Synaptic). Debian and Ubuntu packages are not necessarily binary compatible with each other, however, and sometimes .deb packages may need to be rebuilt from source to be used in Ubuntu. Many Ubuntu developers are also maintainers of key packages within Debian. Ubuntu cooperates with Debian by pushing changes back to Debian, although there has been criticism that this doesn't happen often enough. In the past, Ian Murdock, the founder of Debian, has expressed concern about Ubuntu packages potentially diverging too far from Debian Sarge to remain compatible. Before release, packages are imported from Debian Unstable continuously and merged with Ubuntu-specific modifications. A month before release, imports are frozen, and packagers then work to ensure that the frozen features interoperate well together.

Ubuntu is currently funded by Canonical Ltd.. On July 8, 2005, Mark Shuttleworth and Canonical Ltd. announced the creation of the Ubuntu Foundation and provided an initial funding of US$10 million. The purpose of the foundation is to ensure the support and development for all future versions of Ubuntu. Mark Shuttleworth describes the foundation as an "emergency fund" (in case Canonical's involvement ends).

Ubuntu 8.04, released on April 24, 2008, is the current Long Term Support (LTS) release. Canonical releases LTS versions every two years, with Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx (release number subject to change) scheduled as the next LTS version in 2010.The current regular release, Ubuntu 9.10 (Karmic Koala), was released on October 29, 2009.

On March 12, 2009, Ubuntu announced developer support for 3rd party cloud management platforms, such as for those used at Amazon EC2.

What is Ubuntu?

Ubuntu is one of the Operating system which a large number of people are using in this world!Ubuntu is an operating system based on the Debian GNU/Linux distribution. It is named after the Southern African ethical ideology Ubuntu and is distributed as free and open source software with additional proprietary software available. Ubuntu provides an up-to-date, stable operating system for the average user, with a strong focus on usability and ease of installation. Web statistics from late 2009 suggest that Ubuntu's share of Linux desktop usage is between 40 and 50%.

Ubuntu is composed of multiple software packages, of which the vast majority are distributed under a free software license. The main license used is the GNU General Public License (GNU GPL) which, along with the GNU Lesser General Public License (GNU LGPL), explicitly declares that users are free to run, copy, distribute, study, change, develop and improve the software. Ubuntu is sponsored by the UK-based company Canonical Ltd., owned by South African entrepreneur Mark Shuttleworth. By keeping Ubuntu free and open source, Canonical is able to utilize the talents of community developers in Ubuntu's constituent components. Instead of selling Ubuntu for profit, Canonical creates revenue by selling technical support and from creating several services tied to Ubuntu.

Canonical endorses and provides support for three additional Ubuntu-derived operating systems: Kubuntu, Edubuntu and Ubuntu Server Edition. There are several other derivative operating systems including local language and hardware-specific versions.

Canonical releases new versions of Ubuntu every six months and supports Ubuntu for eighteen months by providing security fixes, patches to critical bugs and minor updates to programs. LTS (Long Term Support) versions, which are released every two years, are supported for three years on the desktop and five years for servers. The latest version of Ubuntu, 9.10 (Karmic Koala), was released on October 29, 2009.

My first SMC camp...!

Hai Freinds,

First of all I need to tell you what SMC is...SMC means Swathanthra Malayalam Computing. This is the link to SMC googlegroup smc-discuss@googlegroups.com.You can join this group and can ask them more details about it.On 27th and 28th of March an SMC camp was conducted at Space office, vellayamballam,Trivandrum. This was my first SMC camp!

The camp was really interesting! The camp was filled with many jokes and some ideas on some matters by many people. It was the first SMC camp where some girls too joined. For this I really thank Dhananjay,Jerrin and Rahul. For this camp we had done two meetings at Zyxware office Kesavadasapuram. The first meeting was on 24th March. In that meeting their were Seven people (Sooraj,Dhananjay,Rahul,Jerrin,Vipin,Mahesh and me).In that meeting we had discussed many ideas and were posted here(Link to that http://groups.google.com/group/ilug-tvm/browse_thread/thread/f0aaa85528c327bf/548970f14e0c7aeb#548970f14e0c7aeb ).

Then the second meeting was on 26th March at Zyxware Kesavadasapuram. While the second meeting unfortunately Their was rain and So number of people had decreased to five(Mahesh and vipin doesn't came). An on that meeting we had finalised some and also we got some stickers too!!...

On 27th morning I was a little late because of traffic block. I reached the camp at 10am.At that Time their was Sooraj,Aashik,Vipin,Dhananjay,Rahul and jerrin. But within an hour the number of people increased to 15 and go on till 27.In the camp most of the people where from CET-Tvm.When the number of people increased we changed some of our plans. At first Sooraj give some introduction to all about the camp. Then Self introduction by everyone of the camp. After that we Split everyone to groups and give different jobs to different groups.Vipin and prefer to translate ubuntu manual as we think if will be a great use for many. And we got some of them who came from kariyavattom university. After that vipin and me tried to split our team into two and starts doing the work of same ubuntu manual from different pages...Me got two others (One from Kariyavattom university and other from SCT-tvm vipins friend- Hari)But after sometime we realised that the people came from Kariyavattom university is having no use to the camp!!!And time came for food.we all dispersed for food.At that time Vipin ,Hari and me gone to have food as a group. While that time we had got some jokes!!.And we planed to become a single group with we three and make those people from Kariyavattom university another team, So that we think we can do the work more fast!!.
But while writerning back we came to know that those people from Kariyavattom university had gone out!!!And that was something sounds good for us.And we starts continuing our work after getting a class on font dessigning!

And we done 3 times more as we done in morning!!!And at 5pm camp was dispersed hoping all will be back tommorow!!!But on the second day the number of people was very less.Even I came the camp on 12pm a I ws having Drums class!!.And we don some work by some "allambs and all" !!!

Anyway the camp was really a good one....I think we should have more camps like this!!!

After the camp we planned to write a review on the camp by everyone and post it here...And got many new ideas to make the camp more interesting and useful.

Some pictures from the camp!!!

Me and Linux!

Hai Friends,
Now I would like to have new posts in my Blog. This is my second post. This is about something which I talk many times in a day with my friends. That is about Linux!!!Now am a great fan of Using Linux.
In this case I would like say thanks to Mahesh Mohan MU who had introduced Linux to me.I think if he didn't introduce it to me, then I would be using this great software. This revolution takes place before 3 years I think. At that time I was studying in +1 at Sree Narayana Public School. Before saying That Story I would like to introduce Mahesh to you all.
Mahesh is my co-brother!He is now studying in University Institute of Technology-Trivandrum as my senior (4th semister BSc.computer Science).http://maheshmohan.co.in/ This is his blog everyone can go through it.Now let me start it.Once when he visited my home he carry Linux mint 6(Felicia).And he asked me whether I need it or not.So I prefer him for a preview! And was interested just by seeing its speed!.So I asked him to install it.And I started using Linux.I had used Felicia for two years.Within a year got net connection in my home.At first I used net for just chatting and downloading Mp3 or games!!After some time I changed to Karmic Koala at the next day of its release! And waited for mint 8.When Mint was released I downloaded it and starts using it!At that time my system was dual booting that is having windows and Linux.Since that time I use linux only for internet uses as windows will do data transfer without our known if some virus is affected!During these time I used to ask Mahesh if I got some doubts regarding Linux. Then he introduce me to Fsug-tvm!And I had joined it and ask my doubts frequently. After sometime I got knowledge by reading all post and I became able to replay to others doubts. So I started helping others too...While doing that I got many good friends from mailing list like subin,Adhin etc...Subin and Adhin where the two person who helped me a lot using Linux applications. Now I had used many distros of Linux.
Now in my system their is three OS,that is Ubuntu 9.10,ubuntu studio 9.04 and Windows. Now I am a man who don't like to use windows!I hate windows!!The only reason I had yet not deleted Windows is for some others to use it(Probably my brother!!)...I had quarrelled my in the name of Linux and Windows! In Google Buzz me had post a sentence and had a quarrel with a friend named Arun. The sentence was this"Windows can be a great tool for the lazy and incompetent, but it takes a true scholar and one who wants to learn to run a robust operating system like Linux.".Anyway this something related to me and Linux.Hope it was nice.Thank you for visiting. Will post more information soon!!!
